Andrew Disney
Director
Andrew was admitted to practice in 2003 and has over 20 years’ experience in corporate and energy/resources law. His main areas of practice are capital markets (including IPOs/backdoor listings and equity raisings) and mergers and acquisitions (including via takeover and scheme of arrangement). Andrew worked at Freehills Perth for over 4 years in Corporate Energy/Resources before moving in 2007 to boutique corporate law firm Steinepreis Paganin. Kyle Edwards
Director
Kyle was admitted to practice in April 2010 and is an experienced corporate and resources lawyer. Kyle’s practice focusses on mining and resources law, capital markets and native title law. Kyle has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, including both domestic and international transactions. James Hunt
Director
James’ practice encompasses all commercial and litigious aspects of exploration, mining and infrastructure projects including all agreements involved in transactions and developing projects. James is a co-author of Hunt on Mining Law of Western Australia and has been regularly recognised as a leading resources lawyer including by Doyle's and Best Lawyers™. Mark Edwards
Consultant
Mark was admitted to practice in 1984 and has over 30 years’ experience in resources and corporate law. He has advised on many significant resources projects in Australia and overseas. Michael Hunt
Consultant
Michael Hunt has practised resources law in Perth for more than 50 years. He has been recognised nationally and internationally as a leading mining lawyer including by Best Lawyers and Doyle’s. He was national President of the Energy & Resources Law Association. His writings include the books Mining Law in Western Australia and Minerals and Petroleum Laws of Australia. For many years he served as a director of various ASX listed junior exploration/mining companies. Andrew Bartlett
Senior Associate
Andrew assists clients with a wide range of commercial transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets (including initial public offerings and secondary capital raisings), private investments and other financing transactions. Andrew also regularly assists clients with governance issues, general corporate matters and ASX and ASIC compliance obligations. Andrew graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce in December 2016 and was admitted to practice in June 2018. Prior to joining EMK, Andrew worked at PWC and Steinepreis Paganin.
Michael Campbell
Lawyer
Michael graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws in 2023. She was admitted to practice as a lawyer in October 2024 and commenced employment with EMK Lawyers in February 2025. Michael previously worked in the Business Law Department at Butcher Paull & Calder. Michael’s experience includes advising on takeovers, initial public offerings, capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, ASX advice and general commercial contracts.
